ACOUSTIC LABYRINTH
We saw earlier on, how to calculate a closed box without the use of TSL parameters of the transducer, and now we see how to calculate an Acoustic Labyrinth in the absence of these parameters.
LEGEND:
ED = external diameter of the woofer used (in millimeters)
DC = diameter of cone (center to center of Suspension) (in millimeters)
SL = thickness of the wood used
FB = frequency at which you want the reinforcement on the low (in Hz)
DF = Density Damping ( in Kg/m3)
LB = Box width (in millimeters)
HB = Height of Box (in millimeters)
PB = Box depth (in millimeters)
AA = Opening Height (in millimeters)
THE = Opening Width (in Millimeters)
Sqrt = Square Root
stands for the formulas:
LB = DE + SL + SL
HB = ((0.25 * (345000 / (Sqrt (1 + (DF / 1.18 ))))) / FB) + SL + SL
PB = (((3.14 * (DC ^ 2)) / 4) / (LB - (2 * SL))) + SL + SL
AA = (((3.14 * (DC ^ 2)) / 4) / DE)
DE LA =
TABLE DENSITY 'OF DEADENING TO ASSIGN A = DF
33 = Polyurethane Foam (molded or smooth)
50 = Glass Wool
13 = Dacron
= 8 Cloth Acrylic
= 25 Waste card from
Finally:
1) Place the woofer the top of the box and the lower end of the Opening Reflex Box.
2) If the tube is covered only slightly on the sides or there arises any absorbent material, the density value "DF" to be assigned in the calculation is = 0 (zero)
